The Smart About Salt Council (SASC), a not-for-profit corporation, is committed to protecting the privacy of your personal information. Given that we may obtain information on you through our website (www.smartaboutsalt.com), we feel it is important that you understand the manner in which we gather and use this information.

Use of Information

Any information you provided to us is used to process your request and to respond to you. We also use all the information you provide us to make your visit on our website more pleasant. We may also use this information in the future to add personalized items to our site or to ensure that our content caters to the interests of our users. In addition, we can use your personal information to send you information letters or promotional offers with a view to providing you with the best possible service if you have consented to this. We do not share your personal information with third parties unless it is required by law.

Non-Personal Information

Collection of Information from Children

We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children under the age of sixteen. However, if children under the age of sixteen provide us with personal information, a parent or legal guardian may request that we delete this information from our files by sending us an e-mail. We will use all reasonable efforts to delete children’s information from our files upon receipt of such notice.

Security and Access

We take all appropriate security measures to ensure that the information you provide is kept confidential.

Refund Policy

Note: All transactions are processed in Canadian dollars.

Fees are collected for training, certifications and sponsorships.

Fees are due upon application.

Training

Training fees are typically non-refundable however, SASC may consider a refund if the training course is cancelled at least seven (7) calendar days prior to the day of training. In the event of cancellation by the registrant the full fee, less fifty dollar ($50) administration fee, will be refunded by cheque mailed to the registrant. If cancellation occurs less than seven (7) days prior to the day of training the full fee is forfeited by the registrant.

Certification

The certification fee is non-refundable.

Sponsorships

The sponsorship fee is non-refundable.
